Charity Collaborations

ELM music therapy works frequently with the Team Jak charity. Team Jak provide support for children and young people affected by cancer and their families. ELM Music Therapy provide both individual therapy sessions and a monthly TJAM (Team Jak Aberdeen Music) group for the whole family to be involved in. During the corona virus pandemic we were able to continue all individual and group sessions virtually.

With the support of the Archie Foundation ELM Music Therapy are able to provide music therapy sessions at the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital. Emmeline is able to visit even the most isolated patients, in isolation bays and the high dependancy unit, in the hospital and create music with them, provide fun and some respite. The Archie Foundation support local sick children while they are in hospital or requiring long-term medical treatment.

ELM Music Therapy provide two monthly group music therapy sessions for the families supported by Charlie House. Charlie house endeavour to make life better for babies, children and young people who have life-threatening and life-limiting conditions and those who love them.

Since January 2021 Nadine has been providing group music therapy sessions for Young Carers. These sessions are supported by Barnardo’s, a children’s charity that protects and supports the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people.

In 2022 Nadine began providing small group music therapy sessions with the Early Intervention Charity in Aberdeen. Early Intervention offer part funded group sessions for Children at Ferryhill Community centre. These sessions are suitable for children who require support with emotional regulation, social communication challenges, executive function, excessive worry/rumination and sensory processing challenges.
