Ashgrove and Howes Road (Orchard Brae) Nursery Nativities 2019 This year Keith and Emmeline helped write and organise four nursery nativities. They all contained a combination of drumming, signing, singing and handheld percussion songs for everyone to join in with – followed by a visit from Santa. On Tuesday 29th October we had a very exciting day with our Makaton Choir at Orchard brae School. The choir were fortunate enough to be invited to launch a project training local Santas, Mrs Clauses and Elves in Makaton. Our choir then featured on BBC Reporting Scotland and in both the P&J and evening express.
We were absolutely delighted to spend this afternoon at the Beach Ball Room for ‘The Children and Young People’s Services Awards’ hosted by Aberdeen City Council with members of our Makaton choir from Orchard Brae School. We were even happier when presented with the Creative Learning Award despite the strong competition from the other nominees.

We were very sad to say goodbye to Jeanne from the ELM team this year. Jeanne carried out some wonderful music therapy sessions with children and young people during her time at ELM and will be greatly missed. We wish Jeanne all the best on her continuing practice in Edinburgh.
